TAO was built by Robertson & Caine – SA in 2000 as an Owner version Leopard 38. She is in pristine condition which has never been in charter and is a proven offshore performer having sailed across the Indian Ocean. She has been on the hardstand for some time and because of his business commitments the present owner is now reluctantly offering her for sale.
Featuring the popular three cabin layout which devotes the entire starboard hull to the owners master suite with a desk and swing out seat, oodles of stowage and a head which has one of the nicest showers you will find on any boat with a separate toilet. Two other double cabins port side and a second bathroom complete the accommodation. The spacious saloon has a newly upholstered U shaped six seater settee with coffee table and the well equipped galley is an entertainers delight with loads of storage and all modern appliances including a Force 10 stove with oven and frig / freezer.
Twin fixed keels and spade rudders allow for sailing in shoal waters or to nose up onto a secluded beach but still allows superb maneuverability, upwind performance and speed under sail. Under power the twin Westerbeke 42hp shaft drive diesel engines give excellent performance and engine noise is minimized because they are separated from the interior in sealed engine rooms accessible through large deck hatches.
Tao has a full complement of electronics, good entertainment systems, new batteries, an excellent sail wardrobe, all safety equipment for passage making including an unused parachute anchor, RIB and two out boards, a full set of dive gear and many spare parts including props which ensure she is ready for further extended ocean voyages.
