4.Rules

4.3 SailingInstructions of 16th China Club Challenge Match will apply.

5.Advertising
5.1Advertising on a boat and/or personal equipment on board shall be displayed inaccordance with World Sailing Regulation 20- Advertising Code.
5.2Boats intending to display their own advertisingon hulls, sails or spars shall submit before September 1st, 2020 a writtenapplication by the team leader and a copy ofthe advertising license in accordancewith the advertising law of the People's Republic of China. If thereis any conflict with the event sponsor’s the organizing committee shall rejectthe application.
5.3Boats shall not be permitted the right to display otheradvertisement on the boat, sails and masts supplied by the Organizing Authority.
5.4Boats shall not be permitted the right to remove the advertisements posted bythe OrganizingAuthority. if there are special requirements, a written application shallbe submitted to the Organizing Authority for a further decision.
5.5The Advertising right of the racing venue belongs to the OA. If the teams wantto advertise at the venue, they should report to the OA and only release theadvertisement with the consent of the OA.
5.6The team shall agree to wear the competition dress on occasions assigned by theorganizing committee.
6.Equipment
6.1 the event will be sailed in one-design J80boats.
6.2 Thirty boats will be provided by the OA duringthe fleet race.
6.3 BYO J80 boats and sails is allowed and shall bemeasured by the RC.
6.4 PET Sail is not allowed for this event, (thischanges the J80 Class Rules).
6.5 Teams are not allowedto adjust and tune the OA supplied boats without the written authority of theOA.
7.Eligibility andEntry
7.1 Competitors over eighteen (18) will be eligibleto enter this event.
7.2 The number of crew (including the skipper)shall be less than 8, the total weight of the crew, including the skipper, shallnot exceed 420 kg. (This changes J80 Class Rules.)
7.3 Skippers shall sail with the same number of crewin each race. And neither the skippers nor the crews shallbe switched among the teams.
7.4 By participating in the China Club Challenge Matchragatta, competitors automatically grant to the Organizing Authority the rightto publish their personal sailing experiences and resumes on the event website.
7.5 Teams qualified in the Match Race of 15th ChinaClub Challenge Match have the priority to register. The Entry List will bepublished on the official event website at any time.
7.6. Entry:
7.6.1 The Entry Form and skipper’s CV templates areavailable to download on the official website. The following documents shall besent to the email address assigned by the OA of 16th China Club Challenge Matchby 24:00, Aug 31st, 2020:

7.6.2 The Organizing Authoritywill reply to the team by email within 5 working days after receiving the entryapplication documents. After receiving the confirmation from the OrganizingAuthority, the fees listed below shall be paid by 24:00, Aug 31st, 2020. Anentry is not complete until payment has been received.
7.6.3 Request to withdraw after paying the fees. Teamsshall submit a written application to the OA.
8.Fee
8.1 Entry fee: 3,000 RMB.
8.2 J80 Boat Chartering fee: 5,000 RMB. (Only forteams who need to charter a boat)
8.3 Damage Deposit: 5,000 RMB. The damage depositis the limit of liability for each incident. If there is damage or equipmentlost during the racing, the damage deposit shall be reduced by the amountissued by the maintenance manufacturer. The OA may require the damage depositto be restored back to the original 5,000 RMB. If there is no reduction, the depositwill be fully refunded by the end of the event.
8.4 Defending Champion (the China Club ChallengeMatch winner) of 2019 has the right of free entry fee and boat chartering fee.
8.5 If the race cannot be held due to the Covid-19 epidemic,all fees will be fully refunded.
9.Format
The event is composed of qualifier, round-robin andChina Club challenge match.
Racing Format: Qualifier——Fleet Racing
Round-robin, China Club Challenge Match——Match Racing
9.1 the event will be divided into the followinggroups according to whether there are active or retired professional sailors onthe team and whether they are all women sailors:
9.1.1 competitive group: there are professionalsailors on the team
9.1.2 social group: there are no professionalsailors on the team
9.1.3 woman group: all crews are composed of women.
9.2 all groups will compete the fleet race on thesame field for 4 days, and the first, second and third place trophies will beawarded.
9.3 The woman group and social group will beawarded separate group trophies: If there are no more than 3 teams on eachgroup, then only the champion will be awarded; There are 4 teams on each group,the first and second place trophies will be awarded; 5 or more teams on each group, the first, second and thirdplace trophies will be awarded.
9.4 the champion of the woman group will also beawarded the "Swan Cup" trophy.
9.5 the woman group and all the teams with womencrews shall compete in all the races during the fleet race, and 0.5 pointsshall be deducted when calculating their total score.
9.6 The teams selected to compete in the match racewill be 12 teams ranked as follows. The top 10 teams in the overall ranking, andthe top 1 team in the social group and the top 1 team in the woman group inaddition to the top 10 teams. For the Match Racing, teams must sail with the samecrew members as they sailed with in the Fleet Race Series.
9.7 All teams willbe divided into two groups according to their odd and even order in the FleetRacing ranking and compete the double round robin. Top two teams from eachgroup will qualify for the quarter finals. The first place winner will beawarded the Challenger Cup of this event and qualifies to challenge thedefending champion.
9.8 Challenge Race: challenge race is a match raceseries (First to win 5 points) between the team that wins the Challenger Cup inthis event and the defending champion. The champion of the 16th China ChinaClub Challenge Match will be the winner the Challenge Race.
9.9 Rules for the defending champion:
9.9.1 the defending champion can participate in thefleet race and win the prize.
9.9.2 the defending champion can participate in theround robin, and only sail a single round robin match against each team. Neitherthe defending champion nor the opposing team will be scored points.
9.9.3 the defending champion will not participatein the knockout stage of the competition.

13.Protests, Penalties and Requests for Redress
13.1 A Protest Committee will be appointed in thefleet race. The decision of the Protest Committee will be the final decision.On-water judging under Appendix Q (to be advised in the SI’s) may be used.
13.2 During the match race, the on-site decisionmade by the Umpires will be the final decision.
13.3 Any damage or equipment lost must be reportedto the Race Committee.
13.4 Protest forms will be available at the RaceOffice. If there is damage and one team considers that another team shall beresponsible for the boat damage. Protests and requests for redress shall bedelivered to the Protest Committee within the appropriate time limit on that day.The Protest Committee will make the final decision. Or the team shall take theresponsibility of the boat damage by itself.
13.5 The race committee has the right to determinethe ownership of the boat damage according to the decision of the Protest Committee.
14.Disclaimer of Liability
Competitors and support persons participate in theregatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The organizingauthority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injuryor death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

15.1 Each competitorshall hold a valid insurance certificate showing proof of third party
liability with aminimum coverage per incident of RMB 500,000 (including medical insurance), andan insurance copy with signature in person is needed at the registration.
