The team Qi Hang was founded in February 2011, and the members of the fleet are made up of amateur sailboat enthusiasts in Beijing and Tianjin. The team members are from all walks of life. They are highly educated and intelligent, with architects, lawyers, teachers, doctors, entrepreneurs and so on. Since its inception, the members received formal education and training in the Qinhuangdao and Beijing sailing center base, laid a very solid foundation with small sailboats. They also trained and grinded together with their own big sailboats. Some members obtain the IYT bare ship captain certificate and ASA104, 105 certificates. After years of training and actual combat, this team has become a very mature, tacit, and capable amateur fleet.
