Five Catamarans to see at The Singapore Yacht Show 2018
Catamarans are very popular and for good reason. The beam, or width of the boat, offer the owner a great deal of room for entertaining. Two hulls provide ample and private accommodation. They are stable, seafaring boats which can be motor or sailing yachts and they are fuel efficient.
Each year the Singapore Yacht Show welcomes more and more exhibitors who are showing the latest in catamarans. It is so popular that in fact, there is an entire section of the Show dedicated to them.
Here are five catamarans you will see at the 2018 Singapore Yacht Show:
1. Fountaine Pajot 44 presented by Multihull Solutions
This is the Asian debut of this French-built motor catamaran. Presented by Australian and Thai company, Multihull Solutions, she is 44-feet (or 13.4 metres) in length with an enormous 21.7-feet or 6.61-metre beam. The Fountaine Pajot 44 motor yacht is power by twin Volvo Penta IPS 350 pod drives delivering exceptional handling over a 2000-nautical mile range. However, the most distinctive feature is the space she offers. This motor catamaran has a combined living and accommodation space of over 50sqm – more than most inner-city apartments and more likely found in a much larger boat. This impressive catamaran will be on the marina along with the Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40.
2. Lagoon 40 and 50 Catamarans presented by Simpson Marine
Simpson Marine will be presenting no less than two Asian debuts from another French yacht builder, Lagoon Catamarans. Both sailing catamarans have had their look completely revamped and ooze European sophistication. The changes extended beyond the aesthetic to performance and handling resulting is smooth sailing for even the smallest crew. The Lagoon range of catamarans have been extremely popular in the Asian region and no doubt, these two yachts will continue the trend.
Simpson Marine are representing both the Lagoon 40 and 50.

3. Aquila 44 and 36 presented by Simpson Marine
Launched in 2012, the Aquila range of motor catamarans are returning to the Singapore Yacht Show in 2018 with two boats presented by Simpson Marine. The Aquila 44 recently conducted extensive cruising on the American west coast achieving an impressive 18-knots speed with excellent sea handling. The Aquila 36 is power with twin outboard engines and is a perfect day boat or tender.
You will find the Aquila 44 and 36 within Simpson Marine’s exhibition space on the marina.
4. Leopard Catamarans
Leopard Catamarans will have a staggering display of four catamarans at the 2018 Singapore Yacht Show – two power and two sail. Built in South Africa, the yachts are defined by their solid construction and seafaring capabilities. The largest of the Leopard Catamarans you will find at the Show is the 51 Powercat which is available in a three or four cabin configuration.

5. S/Y Eaglewings
Launched by Sunreef Yachts in 2016, S/Y Eaglewings is the largest catamaran on display at this year’s Singapore Yacht Show. The first in their Supreme range, she is does just that – reign supreme. She is everything you could want rolled into one yacht. She is a sailing yacht capable of long range, comfortable cruising. She is compact but offers over 300sqm of interior space. Her clever design accommodation four guests, three crew plus room for a tender and jetski.
